Essence Dark Romance Collection

Hey guys! Today I have the three polishes from Essence's Dark Romance collection. It consists of one matte, texture, and one shimmer. 

First is "Gothic Gold"

    Artificial light

This is a gold texture, and it's so pretty in real life! It dried really fast and had good application. This is 2 coats. 

This is "Red Romance"

    Artificial light 

This dries to matte finish. I added topcoat to my ring finger so you can see the difference. The first coat looked a bit streaky, but the second fixed that up! This is 2 coats. 

Lastly, "Dark Night Starlight"

    Artificial light 

This is my fave, unexpectedly, from this collection. When I applied the first coat it looked blue! 

Look at this beauty!!! Good application and dry time. Two coats. 

I picked these up from Shoppers Drug mart for $2.49 each! Essence polish has awesome prices.

OPI Neon 2014 Collection

Hey guys! So today I have the new neon collection from OPI! There were some unexpected faves for me from this collection! I bought the mini set which includes the 6 neons. There's also a white to use a base coat to make the neons pop out but I didn't grab that one. 

All the swatches are without white undies and all dried to a semi matte finish. 

First up is "Juice Bar Hopping"

This is a retina searing tangerine! I love it! The formula was good, dried to a semi matte finish. I used 3 coats with no topcoat. 

This is "Life Gave Me Lemons"

Ahh! My first of the unexpected faves! Totally reminds me of a highlighter yellow, it's great! This is 3 coats, no topcoat. Formula was good.

Here's "You're So Outta Lime!"

My other fave! This reminds me of a neon version of Essie's "Mojito Madness". 3 coats, no topcoat. 

Next up is "Hotter Than You Pink"

This hot pink has a pearlescent shimmer to it which I really like. There's some visible nail line (VNL) but it's not super noticible. I used 3 coats and no topcoat. Also had a good formula and dry time. 

This is "Push & Purr-Pull"

    Indoor lighting

This is the only polish that I had a problem with the formula. I found it to be very streaky on the first coat, and on the second coat it dragged away a lot from the cuticle. The one thing i do like is that it looks super squishy!! This is 3 coats with no topcoat. 

Lastly is "Down To The Core-al"

This is a beautiful coral colour which, unfortunately, I wasn't able to photograph so well. Like "Hotter Than You Pink", it's also pearlescent. Good formula, 3 coats no topcoat.

Polish Addict Nail Color In Bloom, The Prince & The Showgirl and Vanellope Von Schweetz

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been away, just finished moving to a new place! Laura and Crystal released some re formulated polishes from last year, I grabbed 2:In Bloom and The Prince & The Showgirl (part of the "She's a Legend" trio), plus Vanellope Von Schweetz!

**Just to warn y'all, this post is somewhat pic heavy :p **

The Prince & The Showgirl is a beautiful blue holo with what appears to also be somewhat of a chrome.

I unfortunately wasn't able to get a sun shot because it's been so rainy and gloomy here. 

   This macro shot shows the chrome. 

I used 3 coats and topcoat for the above photos. The application was thin on the first coat but built up nicely. As always, great formula and dry time! I really want the rest from this collection. If you're a polish and Marilyn Monroe fan, you need these!!

Here's "In Bloom"

This is a pale green crelly LOADED with all sorts of glitters. Stars,flowers,assorted sized colors and sizes of squares, and assorted sizes and color circles. Also, matte and holo! I'm not much if a green fan, to be honest, so I only ordered a mini size which in now regretting. Everyone needs this polish in their life, seriously. I didn't really have any issues grabbing glitters except for the flowers and stars which is to be expected and I didn't mind  at all lol. This is 3 coats and topcoat, great formula too. 

I used In Bloom with a matte topcoat and Sally Hansens "Mint Tint". 

It looks awesome matte!! 

This is "Vanellope Von Schweetz"

First off, this polish is super fun! I love the random glitter assortment. Microglitters, tiny bars, squares, hexagons and circles of various shapes and colours. Some are matte and holo too! Flawless application and had no problems at all getting some of the bigger glitters. This is 3 coats and topcoat.

N.Y.C. Too Of The Gold

Happy Easter weekend, everyone! What are you're plans? I'm not feeling well, so my plans consist of waiting for the bunny to come visit my daughter :)

Anyway, I've always wanted a gold flakie topcoat but didn't want to pay $30 for it so when I seen this topcoat from N.Y.C. called "Top Of The Gold" I had to have it! It obviously doesn't contain real gold as some of the others do, but for $1.50 who's complaining?!

I layered one coat over OPI "Malaga Wine" and topcoat. 

Here it is with a matte topcoat.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I'm a sucker for matte topcoat! 

Application was great, lots of glitter came off which is why I only did one coat. I'm pretty sure you could build this up on its own to be opaque. I say it's definitely worth buying if you don't already own a gold flakie topcoat!
