Oz The Great And Powerful

Hey everyone! I know I'm late, but I have five of the polishes from O.P.I, Oz The Great And Powerful collection. There are 7 polishes in total. The Wizard Of Oz was my favourite movie as a child so I was super excited when I seen "Oz" in the title! Anyway, first is the liquid sand called "What Wizardry Is This?"

    Indoor lighting.

    Indoor lighting.

This is a brown/gold colour, very easy to work with. This liquid sand doesn't feel as textured as the Mariah Carey ones do and there's no big glitters in it. This is 2 coats.

This is "Glints Of Glinda".

    Indoor lighting.

At first I didn't like this colour. But, after I wore it for a while it grew on me. It makes your nail look natural with a beige tint. Nice formula. This is 4 coats. (Please excuse the dent)

Here is "Which is Witch?" Over "Glints Of Glinda". Fabulous!!!
    Indoor lighting.
    Outdoor lighting.

Which is Witch? Is a glitter topper with a clear base and consists of small bar and hexagon holo glitters! Ahhh! Holo!! This is over Glints Of Glinda.

Here's "Don't Burst My Bubble".

    Indoor lighting.

This is such a nice feminine colour, very soft with a great formula. Good application. This is 4 coats.

    Indoor lighting.

This is "Lights Of Emerald City" over "Don't Burst My Bubble".  This is my fave glitter from this collection. It's white square and iridescent glitter in a clear base. I had to do a bit of fishing for the squares, but it was worth it! This is one coat.

    Indoor lighting.

That's all for today!! Thanks for stopping by!!

O.P.I. "Ate Berries In The Canaries"

Hi!! I picked up O.P.I's "Ate Berries In The Canaries" today, and I thought I'd share a quick picture!
    Artificial light.

It was opaque in one coat but I did two. It's a gorgeous creamy purple-pink colour! Perfect for summer!! This also dried quite fast too.

Color Show Polka Dot

Hey guys!! I finally found Maybelline's Color Show Polka Dot collection. Unfortunately, there was only one. So the one I got was the orange one called "Dotty".

Perfect for Halloween, right?! Anyway, this is a jelly base with assorted size black and white glitter. It dried really fast and that makes me happy! I used three coats and a top coat with no undies.

    Indoor lighting.

    Natural light.

I really like this polish and can't wait to get the others! I didn't have to fish for any glitter, application was great and I learned today that this is 3-free! Awesome! However, it's already chipping off and I just put it on this morning. (Insert sad face) regardless I think this is fantastic! Thanks for stopping by!!
P.S. I changed my instagram name to match my blog name! @polishednubs

Dupes

Hey guys! So yesterday as I was going through my polish stash, I noticed right off the bat that I had a few dupes and thought I'd share.

So, first is Zoya's "LC" VS. Wet n Wild's Wild Shine "Red Red".

    Natural light.

So these both show some VNL after 2 coats. They both applied great and the formula is good as well for both. Except that Zoya is "3-free" which makes it all the better. They both dried quick too.
Zoya retails for about $10 CAD and the Wet n Wild is about $2-2.50 CAD.

Next is OPI's "Eurso Euro" and Maybelline Color Show "Sapphire Siren".

    In shade.

    In sunlight.

    Outside with flash.

First up, I apologize for the weird pictures. It was extremely hard to take a picture of these without making them look black. So, I thought the Maybelline Color Show's formula was a little bit difficult to work with. It was quite patchy. The colour is a bit more denim-y in comparison to OPI's. I found that one to be more blue-y. OPI's application is wonderful and dried faster than Color Show. These were both 2 coats.
OPI retails for about $10 and Color Show is about $4.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Textured Polishes

Hi everyone!! Today I thought I'd share with you some of my new textured polishes. I absolutely love these polishes and I hope this trend keeps up!!

So, I received a China Glaze Texture in a recent nail mail exchange and I love it!!

    Natural light.

This ones called "In The Rough". I haven't had the chance to try a textured polish that wasn't full of glitter so this was a nice change. This is such a pretty pear colour, 2 coats. I would love to get my hands on the rest of this collection!! Great application.

Next is Orly FX in "Black Pixel" from their Megapixel Collection.
    Artificial light.

This is a beautiful black with tons of silver glitter! I was pleasantly surprised as this was my first Orly polish. It was so hard to capture the glitter, sorry! This is 2 coats!

Overall, I love both of these polishes. What are your thoughts on textured polishes? Love em? Hate em? Haven't tried yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Jindie Nails and Lush Lacquer

Hey everyone! Yesterday I received a nail mail package and it contained my FIRST indie polishes!! was so excited, I began swatching right away! All of the following polishes were swatched over one coat of white polish and no top coat.
First up is Lush Lacquer's "Blue Gypsy".
    Natural light.

Oh yes!! Look at those circle glitters!! Love it. Blue Gypsy is a blue jelly with neon glitter and star glitter. I did minimal fishing, but definitely worth it. Smooth application, over all great polish. I will be buying from this brand! Lush Lacquer does not ship to Canada or internationally anymore. Full size bottles can be purchased from llarowe.com for $11.

Next up are two polishes from Jindie Nails! First is "Burrrberry".
    Natural light.

Wow! The colours of the glitter are so fantastic! This is a white crelly with assorted size berry coloured glitters! So cute! No fishing for glitters with this one.
Full size bottle retails for $10 on llarowe.com.

This next one is "Rave".

    Natural light.

Talk about wicked colour combo!!!! Oh, I love this one too! That neon green?!! Oh my!! This is a white crelly base. Once again, no fishing and great application. This one is also available at llarowe.com for $11.

Overall, fantastic experience! Highly recommend these to everyone. Can't wait to get my hands on more. Thanks for stopping by and come check out my instagram! @xoshaylenexo

Nail Care Products

Hey everyone! So I thought I'd share with you all the products i use that make all the difference when it comes to having healthy hands and nails and a beautiful manicure! Obviously everyone is going to be different, but this is what I find works best for me.
First up is my clean-up brush.
This is actually just a paint brush that I cut to angle the bristles. This helps clean up any unwanted polish around the edge of the nails and cuticles. This cost me about $1.

For about $3, I got this 12 pack of Trim brand cuticle sticks from Wal-Mart. It's always better to push back your cuticles, not to cut them. That could lead to an infection.

This is Essie's Disappearing Trick.  It claims to soften and moisturize cuticles. I found that I had to use this more than I wanted to. But, it definitely did soften my cuticles.
What I really liked about this was the tip of the tube. It was soft and rubbery and helped massage the product into cuticles. This retails for about $8 CAD.

Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.  Love this! 100% natural, and its not just for cuticles! it also helps brittle nails! Besides smelling so delicious, it has a long wear time and it helped my cracked cuticles start healing!! I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to start healing their cuticles or even if you want to maintain healthy cuticles.
This retails for about $8 CAD.

This is Revlons Gentle cuticle Remover. I really like this product. You brush it onto cuticles, push them back and 5 minutes later wash it off. It takes a few applications to notice a difference though. It smells like eucalyptus. Gotta love anything that smells good!!
I picked this up for $6 CAD

Essie's Apricot Cuticle Oil is fantastic!! Apply it twice daily and massage in. I've had this for about a month and you can barely see any product missing. This is by far one of the best cuticle products I've tried. And it smells great!!
$8 CAD

This is Sally Hansens Continuous Treatment:Strength. This product is to strengthen weak nails. I didn't really like this this unfortunately. Not only did it not do anything for my nails, but it got extremely goopy after a month.
I snagged this for $4 CAD.

Nicole by OPI Strengthener Plus. This has been by far my favourite nail Strengthener I've tried and I've only been using this for about a week!! Application is nice and it dries quick. (Quick dry is important when you have a kid(s)!!)
$9 CAD

Last but not least, Revlon's Treat & Boost, another nail strengthener. This was ok, nothing to rave about. I didn't really notice a difference. Plus, after it was completely dry, it would still make my nail polish very streaky when applied.
This was $6 CAD.

Well that's all folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Essie Neons 2013 Collection

Hey everyone!! Yesterday I picked up 2 of the 6 colours from Essie's neon collection. Let me tell you, it was so hard to choose!! I love neons!! These were swatched with no undies.
So, first up is "Boom Boom Room"
    In sunlight.

    In shade.

Gorgeous right?!! Im definitely going to have to pick up another bottle of this because I have a feeling ill be using this a lot! This is the perfect bubblegum pink. I liked this formula a lot, but because I didn't use a white base I had to use 3 coats.

Next up is "Shake Your $$ Maker"
In shade. (Excuse the bike lol)

    In sunlight.

When I first seen this on the shelf, I was really pumped up to use a nice green. But, once I started applying it, I didn't like it too much. It has a jelly-ish consistency. This is 3 coats and there is still VNL. Maybe ill like this more with a white base or used as a jelly sammich?
These retail between $8-$9 CAD at Wal-mart. Thanks for stopping by!

Essie Summer 2013 Collection

Hey everyone! I grabbed a few of Essie's new summer polishes today. I have 3 of the 6 in this collection. So, first up is "Sunday Funday". It's a beautiful tangerine-ish coral. It has a beautiful shimmer to it, but I wasn't able to capture it as well as it actually looks in real life. Sorry guys!!
    In shade.

    In sunlight.

I really liked the formula. It was creamy and didn't streak. This is 2 coats with very minor VNL (visible nail line).

Next is "The More The Merrier". LOVE THIS!! It's a gorgeous lime green. I thought for sure I was going to hate the formula but total opposite!
    In shade.

    In sunlight.

This is 2 coats. Nice and opaque. No VNL! This will definitely be one of my faves this summer!

Last but not least, "Naught Nautical". A lovely teal. This one also has shimmer in it.
   In sunlight.

This is 2 thin coats. Once again, great formula! From what I've tried so far, I love this collection! Until I get my hands on the others, i'd love to hear what you guys think of this collection. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my first ever blog post!!
